One of the best things about doing this series is the opportune to reflect on and re-evaluare my feelings for records and bands that I experienced as I was coming of age. The key years 1980 to 1985. The following five were me becoming an adult. That's another story.
The Beat. You couldn't help but enjoy them at the time. But like The Undertones it took a while to realise just how good they were. They were deceptive. Special Beat Service their third and final record found them looking Westwards. They're fondly remembered by many and I'll play their records as long as I'm alive
