Song(s) of the Day # 3,792 Night In Athens

I'm aways curious to discover what's placed top of the weekly New Music Friday (r/indieheads) Playlist posted at the end of the week on Spotify and the Internet in general. It's not an alphabetically ordered playlist and I usually find that whatever is placed at the to of the playlist is a record of interest and disovery.

This week Wasted Reflektions by Night In Athens, emergents from the 2010 London DIY underground scene. It's a barely supressed Early Eighties Synth throwback. 'Aaah we fade to grey!' With a wannabee Nico type wrapping herself like ivy around the microphone.

It's all rather hysterical and awash with slightly phoney projected urban paranoia, but you might find yourself tapping your toes. Or even venturing out on the dancefloor throwung ludicrous shapes. It's all done in the spirit of dark fun I'm quite sure.

  1. Blimey, I thought Propaganda had got back together when that started.... Have just checked and, apparently, Propaganda have got back together. Coincidence?

  2. I loved that Propaganda record. It's such a product of its time . All that Gothy Melodrama. But strangely it's lasted well too. As it was genuinely artistically inclined. This is schlok by comparison. But good fun.
