Written in '66, recorded in 67, Number 11 for five weeks in '68. As much a soundtrack for the times as anything else released over those years. A black band playing psychedelic music. They also did pop, dance and soul very well. The best use of a cowbell in recorded history. Featured on numerous film and TV soundtracks. Singer Lester Chambers has now turned to the internet to highlight the plight of the artist who doesn't get the payback for the music he creates. All the best to him. This remains wonderful! They did a twelve minute version on album. For me the single version more than does the job.
