Our band could be your life...
'Me and Mike Watt played for years. Punk Rock changed our lives.' Parts of Double Nickels on the Dime sound like nothing else. A namecheck for San Pedro where they grew up. wasted youth not wasted at all. 'We were fucking corndogs. We'd go drink and pogo.' A realisation that they were living and making history beautifully chronicled. A list of inspirations, 'Mr Narrator. This is Bob Dylan to me.' , Richard Hell, Joe Strummer and John Doe and D.Boon and Mike Watt from the band next in line. Gone too soon like the band was soon to be with Boon's tragic death.. Pretty much perfection. Thanks to Dave Line who initiated myself and my mate Andy to the genius of this album. Will never forget getting drunk and listening to it slack jawed for the first time in a kitchen in Riga.
