Song(s) of the Day # 3,651 San Fermin

 

Familiar guitar minor chords, a warm emotive passionate voice. Not a bad way to start a Saturday morning. San Fermin are a band of brothers like the E Street Band used to be. They're out of Brooklyn just as you might suspect. Their latest album Arms is testament to the E Street Band's greaat idea and guiding pronciple. Pile yourself into a big car, put your hands on the wheel and your foot on the pedal and see where it takes you.

I enjoyed listeing to Arms just now. It's sincere and heartfelt, gifted and easy in its skin. It doesn't attempt to reinvent any wheels but that's not always necessary. It's not a patch on the new Grandaddy record which is already my pick of this Friday's new releases. But it's more than good enough for today's Song of the Day slot. Give it a try over your morning tea, ceral and croissant. You might find something that takes your fancy,
