Song(s) of the Day # 3,625 Birds in the Brickwork

Reminder to self. Make a point of looking at Stewart Lee's monthly music column in The Idler and tracking down the records he reccomends immediately. Stewart knows. About comedy. about politics. About life itself I imagine. Certainly about music.

Birds in the Brickwork's album from last year A Strange Peace is among Stew's latest recommendations. It's like many records that are drawing me in right now, a marginal, instrumental record that trades primarily in atmosphere.

According to the makers.it displays ' an affection for the marginal and liminal.; rippled images in puddle, half drawn curtains. A catch of weeds.'  Yep. Search me too. But I direct you immediately to the music and this explanation of it.  A Strange Peace is an enchanting, restful listen which might lead you to skip this week's mindfulness session.

While you're tracking down  Birds in the Brickwork I 'll get back to Stew's recommendations. He knows y'know.
