This is not a particular favourite of mine, nor was it at the time but it certainly reminds me of the early weeks of 1980 where it made its way and lodged itself firmly at Number One. I'm also no great fan of Roger Waters' dystopian bleakness but the song certainly struck a chord. There was once a time when this kind of brutal institutional authoritarianism was the norm and this is a document and indictment of those days.
