Belated recognition for Ivan Kral, guitarist for The Patti Smith Group who died earlier this month. He also played in Blondie and with Iggy Pop.He had at least a hand in writing a staggering amount of great songs on Smith's early records including Ask the Angels, Pissing in a River, Birdland, Citizen Ship and Dancing Barefoot. Born in Czechoslovakia, his diplomat parents sought asylum in America in 1966. He had refugee status from that point on until 1981 when he was granted US status.
