Dehd a young Chicago trio work within the strict but reliable confines of Indie pop. Working on a seam that has been chipped out over the years by The Velvet Underground, Modern Lovers, Galaxie 500 and Beat Happening among many others, their eponymous album, just out, unearths a number more quiet but worthy nuggets.
Though there's nothing here that will surprises devotees of this form, there's plenty that will please. Infusing the familiar with plenty of touches of their own personalities and concerns Dehd offers up ten fine tracks all underpinned by pounding Mo Tucker drums, steady bass, wandering guitar and male and female exchange vocals. Sometimes, what you know and love done well ticks the necessary boxes.
