Song(s) of the Day # 3,406 Jeffrey Silverstein

More Darren Jones approved merchandise. In his word's 'woozy Country' and that description hits the bullseye.. Lee Hazelwood after one too many shots, David Berman slightly worse for wear. Portlander, Jefferey Silverstein and his second album Western Sky Music.

It's as good as those descriptions sound. Gram, if he'd plumped in '69 for the Velvets rather than The Stones, this is liquid, blissed out guitar music, Silverstein drawls at the heart of what's going on in an utterly spaced fashion. Kurt Vile's Arizona cousin.

Brownie points once more Darren. This is gorgeous stuff. Silverstein barely stretches a muscle for the course of the records thirty minutes stretch. He knows that's exactly the right thing to do. Stoned. Immaculate.
