An extraordinary album which I've stumbled on late in the day whuch transfixed me from the get go and makes as good a Christmas Day Song of the Day as any. It's cold and dark where I am, but it's getting warmer as the house heats up and this is a wonderful soundtrack.
John Canning Yeats' The Quiet Portraits is an album that gently byt stealthily yearns from classic status et Sounds.Forever Changes. Well you might as wel. Even if you're some little known Scouser Scallie. The former lead singer of Ella Guru.
But Yeats has definitely been fully garlanded on this one. 'A classic' 'Dream whispered vocals form beautiful soundscapes a la Brian Wilson and Bert Baccarach croos his deliciouslylow key take on Americana. Gorgeous.'
Phew ! But The Quiet Portraits is a crafted and visionary album that desrerves fulsom frothing aaat the mouth like this. It's a special record. Anothe that escaped the nets of the It Starts With a Brthstone rundown that I'm posting next. Such is always the way.
