Another one of those intermittent, 'oh who is this, I think they're my new favourite band, blah, blah, blah... moment of claruty that hit me every once' in a while upon an accidental duscovery on It Starts.
I then proceed to clear the decks for the next song of the day so I can sing the praises of the artist and record in question in my next Song of the Day slot.
So here we are on the Monday of Christmas week and San Francisco quartet French Cassettes' third album Benzene is in prime of place. It's pure smart thinking, fluent Indie guitar dream meandering. Rooted in Magnetic Fields and Beach Boys harmonies and general laidback Sixties good vibes and taken inspiration forward to fresh and verdent meadows.
Thus is feelgood music. Much in the same way as fellow Californian White Denims cool as can be. Sussed smart erudite American young men with guitars having a ball.
