Astral Weeks still sounds a record apart. One of my very favourite albums, and I'm certainly far from alone in thhat respect. Just started a book which takes it as its subject matter and attempts to unwrap its mysteries. Written by a native of Boston, Mass, which was where Van Morrison was living with his newly wed wife Janet Planet, when he made the record. The first twenty five pages set the scene and end with a discussion with Peter Wolf, lead singer of the J.Geils band and owner of a legendary recording of Morrison performing the songs on the record, before he recorded them, in a Boston night club called The Catacombs.
