'Buddah was the epitome of a New York label. It evokes nostalgia - the city buzzing, stifling overwhelming, laughing, swearing and arguing, yellow taxi cabs with horns sblaring. Thinking of Buddah recalls movie scenes like the plumes of steam sensuouly sizzling from the subway grate of Wiidy Allen's Manhattan or broadwat Danny Rose. Somewhere in my cinemascoic version of New York with its Brill Building, Brooklyn Bridge and Carnegie Deli imagery, amid the hustle and bustle, there's Buddah Records ouming out Bubblegum Pop hits like there's no timorrow in a city full of insomniacs.'
