Normans apparently were born 'in the dirty streets of LA and 'baptized in the Punk rich waters of Hermosa Beach.The city that gave us Black Flag, Red Kross, Minutemen and more.' Their debut album is eponymous and just North of Forty minutes long.
Like the band that made it, it has bad hair and missing teeth. It 's LOUD first and foremost. As Metal as it is Punk. Bad hair California. It has a legacy. Songs called things like John Hockey and Shut Up I'm Shopping. Fair to say it doesn't take itself seriously.
It exists in a tradition.Fuelled by Mexican Jumping Beans, Helium, and it wouldn't surprise me, inadvisable drugs. It doesn't rest for an instant.
That's just as it should be. It's a record you probably need to play once. But I'm aware that tastes and preferences in volume differ. You might find youself playing it again.
