Still yet to get round to their current record. I had the chance to see IDLES when this came out. They were playing around the corner from me. In a tiny club. I wish I'd gone.
I like the idea of the band. They are a people's band. Their hearts are in the right place. Their gigs are clearly events. But I'm wary of the constant anger. As Lydon said, 'it's an energy'. But too much of it leads nowhere.
P.S. I then gave Idles new record TANGK a listen. I didn't get far. After a couple of songs it felt that lasting the course would be rather like being obliged to do a cross country at 14 in the pouring rain
