It seems some music platforms become cottage industries, churning out offshoot bands and solo ventures from members of the original collective. Woods/ Kevin Morby, Big Thief and now U.S.Girls.
With Jane Inc. preparing for the launch of her second album here is U.S.Girls drummer Evan J. Cartwright making his own splash with his debut bit by bit.
It's an odd record. Almost a throwback to childhood, quite Sesame Street in its vibe and full of jazz melodicism. Describe son his own Bandcamp page as a Post Modernist Chet Baker, that's slightly exagerrating the appeal and merit of the record but it's certainly a diverting and appeal listen.
