Musically, Australia definitely seems to be pretty much one of the places where it's 'at' these days. Take Gold Class. They do that stern, lean, bleak punk guitar thing that makes you think 'Fugazi' most immediately, though perhaps with the Morrissey of the early Smiths at the mic. They do it all extremely well too. This comes from last year's It's You, and as with compatriots Total Control, Gold Class seem to be mapping out an apt soundtrack for our times.
