Another Morrissey favourite. She contributed her distinctive vocal warble to his November Spawns a Monster. Virtually inhabiting the term 'maverick', her 1988, self-titled debut gained acclaim and attention on its release but she never followed it up properly, apparently dissatisfied with the way it turned out. Still sings live and occasionally contributes to tribute albums and performs duets in addition to acting almost thirty years on.

This is a classic album for me. One of the very great one-album-wonders. I always lamented the lack of subsequent output, but the perfection of her one album (and I liked her Christmas EP as well) should probably not lead us to tempt fate. Her body of work remains pristine.
