Song of the Day # 727 Tinkerbell's Fairydust

The first track of one of the rarest collectors albums of all. Tinkerbell's Fairydust as their name suggests, were purveyors of late sixties whimsical and ever so slightly wet psychedelia. Assembled in 1969 (this was their second single), from a selection of previously recorded tracks it was recalled by label Decca and only a very few copies are thought to exist. It sells for thousands. The record itself is deeply reminiscent of many records of the time, The Zombies, The Herd, Honeybus etc has a quaint, period charm. And as the Twenty Ten date of the title is now a place in the past, an increasingly deep and distant one.
