Nick Kent - Soundtrack to the Seventies 1978-79

From Charles Shaar Murray to his NME sparring partner. Finally getting round to closing off this series which dates back a couple of years. It's drawn from the appendix to Nick Kent's fine, if somewhat erratic memoir of his times in the seventies Apathy For The Devil in which he chooses his favourite tunes from those times. He truncates 1978 and 1979 together into one selection as they weren't the happiest of times for him personally.

1. Bruce Springsteen - Candy's Room

From Darkness on the Edge of Town which Kent selects.

2.Tom Waits - Romeo is Bleeding

Again he chooses this song's parent album Blue Valentine

3. The Bee Gees - Too Much Heaven

4.Captain Beefheart - Tropical Hot Dog Night

5. Warren Zevon - Accidentally Like a Martyr

Kent picks the whole Excitable Boy album

6.Bob Dylan - Senor

7. The Cramps - Domino

For some reason I can't find a direct link to this but here you go.

8. Neil Young - Powderfinger

Kent selects the whole live record Rust Never Sleeps

9. The Pretenders - Kid

10. The Clash
