Song of the Day # 233 The New York Dolls

From their eponymous first album which I'm listening to now and which though flawed, frankly sounds wilder, stranger, more out there and more alive than anything I'm likely to hear this year. This begins and ends with a gong. Machine gun drumming and guitar. Sylvain, Thunders and Nolan on top form throughout. Political comment clearly though I haven't been able to hunt down further clarification of its lyric. Just a great track in any case.
