I went to see The Sonics tonight down at Newcastle Quayside. One of the, if not the original garage punk band. All of these guys were so in tune with and still in thrall with the basic ingredients of primal Rock & Roll. I heard The Stooges and the MC5. I heard Chuck Berry and Little Richard. I heard the Sex Pistols and Nirvana.I heard the start of it all and where we've got to now. I looked up onstage at a bunch of guys between their mid and late 60s and I loved them for what they were doing and will continue to do. Probably 'til they drop dead. I also got the setlist in the feeding frenzy at the end of the night. These things are important.
