Song(s) of the Day # 3,519 Hartle. Rd

'We luv Rock n Roll because it comes from where we live. Keep Rockin' please.' All that is says on the Spotify bio for Columbus, Mississippi neophytes Hartle Ed's debut album Max II, Not the most inviting rejoinder to listen to a record perhaps. But stay tuned because there's much of interest to anyone who enjoys It Stars With a Birthstone basic bill of fare.

Hartle Rd. are clearly unrepentantly young but they have intersts and music chops way beyond their years. Max II's DNA is in the end of the 70s and early 80's. B52's, Pylon, Devo, Kleenex the fundamental and understandable conviction that Mars Has Guitars, and if it does, then the least we can do is find out what they sound like.

A record of ten songs that falls just short of forty minutes, is predicated on fun first and foremost and doesn't outstay its welcome for a moment. It delves into that strange American hyper-reality explored in such classic movie fare as Danny Darko and Repo Man, There's much here that will rewardd repeated play.  Altogether splendid stuff !
