One of the most interesting stables of musicians in the world at the moment seem to be the group of people in Australia who coalesce now and then and put out records as Total Control. One of that number and certainly one of the most interesting musicians of the group is Perth's David West.
Long since it seems having flown the Total Control nest, West now puts out some of his most interesting stuff under the banner Rat Columns. They put out a terrific album in 2017 called Candle Power and are now back with another Pacific Kiss.
It's meandering, romantic guitar melodicism somewhere between The Only Ones, The Go Betweens, Felt and Belle & Sebastian. That should be enough to entice you in and Pacific Kiss has plenty to offer to anyone who loves any of these bands and is looking to renew their vows.
