A song I never cared for, I realised recently largely for its title which for some reason I wrote off as Michael Stipe at his least likeably navel gazing. However, I listened again recently and re-assessed. It's one of their finest mid-period songs. A genuine and skilfully evoked sadness at the pitiful state of the world. Beautiful atmospherics.
