Song of the Day # 258 Urge Overkill

I bought Urge Overkill's Saturation album about twenty years ago when I was living in Dortmund. Orange vinyl is one of its many features. On Geffen records so it's still a slight mystery why it wasn't enormous, although perhaps it doesn't have the consistency to really merit it. Still, a lot of great things on their not least this track.  Now it's magnificent cover is staring at me from the front of one of my racks so the band gets Song of the Day as we wend our way towards the weekend. They played their instruments as if the Seventies had never ended. They took their name from a line in a Funkadelic song. They had a drummer called Blackie Onassis. What more do you want?
