Occasionally it's best, if you're feeling distracted or anxious to let it go and give a record your complete attention. In the case of Pacific Ocean Blue that means lettung it wash over you in every respect. It's that kind of record. It's nit hard to relate ti .We've all been to the sea, (or pretty much all of us I imagine) and we've all been children.
We may not know the beaches if California that Dennis Wilson is describing but we can imagine them. The tide going in and the tide going out. The joy and the sadness. The eternal. The beautiful planet we share..
This might seem like a rather desolate album in some ways. Wilson was coming to the end if his own particular line. But there's actually an enormous amount of generosity and artistic wisdom here. The tide comes in. The tide rolls out.
