Wisconsin singer - songwriter S.Carey works within a well-established modern musical genre and a very American one. That of the awe of being alive, floating along on the waves of time way of doing things, where Bon Iver, Sufjan and Hiss Golden Messenger probably act as brand managers and market leaders. Carey on his latest album, Hundred Acres, (his third in all), is clearly finding his voice. It's made up of a set of solid and evocative songs, never really astonishing you, but never letting the side down either. For that he gets a couple of Songs of the Day.
