Song(s) of the Day # 745 Louie & the Lovers

While we're on the subject of Dough Sahm. He produced this record. A sun-dappled Californian album which came out in 1970 with very clear echoes of Creedence and the songs they were putting out at exactly the same point, cleanly produced and resonant of the early days of Rock and Roll much against the grain of  most of what was coming out then.

A clean, warm and quite beautiful album right the way through. The record itself didn't sell, but is still a very interesting listen now. The band have since got together are playing again and finally getting their proper due.
