Song of the Day # 752 Hawkwind


 

Some things you have fixed opinions on without having ever actually listened to. Such is the case with myself and Hawkwind. When dipping your toe in you might as well listen to the first track on the first album so here it is.

    I can recommend most of their stuff up until the early 80s. It gets patchy after that.

    The Robert Calvert era may well be right up your street. They were a huge influence of a lot of punk/post punk bands.

    Hurry on Sundown is a great opener.
