Thirty Days of C-86 # 2 The Weather Prophets

To follow Primal Scream with The Weather Prophets on here seems apt as the two banned were twinned in the early days of Creation as Alan McGee's main hopes for a commercial breakthrough, signing up to WEA offshoot label Elevation. Almost Prayed was their finest hour, a sturdy and perfectly formed singled based around the sturdy guitar formula and sensibility of Television's Glory. Wrapped up in teenage existentialist romanticism; 'I watched the swans in Diesel River. And struck a match and watched it burn against the night.' It should have been a hit.
