Jo Mama Post Script

So after coming upon this by reading a chance comparison to Prefab Sprout by Robert Christgau last night I've spent a very enjoyable hour at work in the company of their eponymous 1970 album thanks to Spotify where you can find it. It didn't really particularly remind me of Prefab Sprout though I did see what he was talking about with the general 'open-ness' of it. It's pure California Sunshine, also reminiscent of Carole King, Steely Dan and well, just being outside. Halfway through my Spotify listen I found myself thinking, I need to own this, and searching Discogs for it. Trust me, the record's great. Such is the life sentence of the addicted music buyer. More information of the musicians and technicians involved who branched from and to The Fugs, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Carol King, Peter & Gordon, James Taylor, The Rocky Horror Show and elsewhere here.
