Song(s) of the Day # 515 World of Twist

Retro futuristic chic from twenty five years back. World of Twist were much rated by critics, deejays and fellow musicians at the time and since but failed to match that acclaim with much real chart success or record sales. Their 1990 Quality Street album is worth hearing, I had the sense to buy it at the time, but really these two singles tell their story as well as anything. As distinct from the pack as Associates had been with Party Fears Two and Club Country almost ten years before and Roxy Music with Virginia Plain and Pyjamarama ten years before that, these should both have been Top Twenty hits. They probably influenced nobody but it's sometimes just easier to copy the obvious stuff.
