Songs About People # 55 Ernest Borgnine

Perhaps not on the surface the best song from John Grant's recent album Pale Green Ghosts. But his records are generally about the whole and need to be listened to as such rather than their individual parts while this has diverting saxophone, is a grower and is after all at least partially about Ernest Borgnine who is a necessary subject for a song by someone. It also has one of the album's hardest hitting lines, "Doc ain't lookin’ at me, says I got the disease/ Now what did you expect, you spent your life on your knees."
