From The Guardian. A nice idea and as good a way of any of spending your time if you're a media artist.
'There have been plenty of dodgy records made by footballers down the years, but what if some of the game's greatest players ever had been immortalised in vinyl? New York-based graphic designer James Taylor wondered exactly that. He then created these imaginary album sleeves in styles which reflect the players' personalities and the genres of music they'd most likely have produced. 'I felt that [Carlos] Valderrama's hair instantly puts him into the mould of guitar virtuoso (on the Columbia label, of course),' he says. 'I imagined Jairzinho to make a funk-soul LP; it's the right time period and he already has the look. Socrates, on the other hand, would perhaps make a folk or experimental record with a more political message.'
