Listening to Buzzcocks in 2025 now I'm 60 is very different to listening to them in 1978 when I was 13. I'm no longer hormonal. I'm no longer confused about the things growng below. I can make comparisons with the things they were listening to. The Velvet Underground, Can, Pete Hamill.And readung. Burroughs. Yeats. Jackie.
I enjoy it as much as I ever did. Nut in a different way. Probably a more cerebral way though I'm still excited. It struck me as more of a Science Fiction than I would have thought of it previously. It's ingenious. .
I watched Pete Shelley on TV and didn't understand his sexual projection. I appreciate how good the lyrics are. Confusion and commerce. Agitation and a desire to get in Top of the Pops and Radio One. Because they knew they had something.
