The Tallest Man on Earth - Henry St.

The Tallest Man on Earth is a great name for a band, or in this case an artist. It sounds like the name of a film or a book around which a tall tale can be built. Perhaps as tall as the man himself

The Tallest Man on Earth is a Swede called Kristian Mattson. He has a farm in Sweden to which he retreats and gathers his thoughts occasionally before putting out new record releases, which he's been doing for the best part of fifteen years.

They mostly sound fairly similar, though that's not a complaint or a criticism because many musical artists work best this way and Mattson's way of doing things has always been to my taste.

What he does is mostly early Seventies singer songwriting. The early Seventies were surely the Golden Age of singer songwriting and as he's talented, his records are always worth a listen. Mattson clearly loves all things American and reminds me of Jim Croce most of all. Never a bad thing.

Latest album Henry St. has eleven songs and they're all good ones and all make you feel that you're on your way someone down the Great American Jighway with the wind in your hair. If you like that idea, you might like this record
