Song of the Day # 2,974 MJ Lenderman

The second Song of the Day within a week out of Asheville, North Carolina and it's a member of the same band, Wednesday, who are clearly somewhat schizophrenic in terms of their artistic nature and inclinations.. While last year's Twin Plagues was distinctly Shoegazey,  their latest  Mowing the Leaves Instead of Piling 'em Up, (a cover record), is clearly just as inpired by classic country.

Wednesday's guitarist MJ Lenderman is clearly fundamental in this slant of their sound. He has a new album coming out soon and it allows him to indulge that vein of his taste. Here's a song from it. It's pure Gram Parsons. But one of the most wonderful things about it's a song Gram would have been proud to have written. One of the best things I've heard this year.
