A lilting, unadorned folk album from Los Angeles artist Shannon Lay called Living Water came out last Friday. It's mostly Lay's clear vocals, accompanied by acoustic guitar and the occasional violin. It's all as minimalist as can be, the two songs posted here should give you a good taste of what's going on. Altogether something of a balanced and upbeat Pink Moon, Lay's second solo album in less than a calendar year and a million miles away from the punky stuff she's known for from her band Feels.
