A very lovely set of songs on an EP called Slow Return, released this year, from Frankie Broyles,one-third of Atlanta, Georgia's Omni, of whom I've written plenty about on here already, and also a past member of Balkans and Deerhunter. Here he's doing a similar melodic, angular post-punk thing to Omni but with an altogether more romantic and slightly melancholic bent.
It says something about Broyles' confidence that he's content to chuck off songs of such quality on a minor key release like this. It all bodes well for the re-emergence of Omni who already are back with new songs following last year's debut Deluxe and release their next record Multi-Task on September 22nd.
