There's an episode of the British comedy series Black Books, where a customer of the book shop in the title, played by Bill Bailey is looking for a cops of Little Book of Calm to do just that. He ends up swallowing it. Vashti Bunyan's Just Another Diamond Day serves a similar function for me in times of distress. Recorded under extraordinary and very specific circumstances, documented beautifully here by Robert Forster, it's a very special record, a reminder of life's essential qualities and wonder.
