Not the only proud amateur on this here list. With his brother David, he formed Half Japanese, one of the most deliberately untutored and inept bands ever to make their mark. Starting in their bedrooms in the mid-seventies, Jad is still at it. A glorious inspiration to all that it's just as much about what's in your head as your actual musical abilities or in their case, lack of them. And they've made no end of great records too.
