During the Pet Shop Boys peak years I didn't pay them much attention. They were just there. Always on the radio. Always on Top of the Pops. They pushed a gay sensibility and I didn't consider myself gay. Though I wasn't bigoted.
Now I take to them much more. Their sensibility is beaurifully realised. This was their commercial peak. Several of their best singles. Frankly this is state of the art. As good a soundtrack to ever day life in the UK. They were fantastic chroniclers.
