Songs About People # 583 Dylan & Caitlin Thomas

The Manic Street Preachers have just returned with a new album Resistance Is Futile. And from it comes this, their tribute to Welsh Poet Dylan Thoms and his wife and muse Caitlin. It's an effective piece of music and lyricism, harkening back to one of their golden records, Everything Must Go in terms of its orchestral scope and sadness, a constant with this particular band. With James Dean Bradfield duetting with compatriot The Anchoress, it sounds like a gutsier Beautiful South with the Manics trademark guitar heroism and poignancy added to the mix. I'll have to give the rest of the record a listen as it's clear they still have something to say. On this promo, you get the lyrics, which deserve an onscreen feed and some lovely shots of Welsh countryside and coastline.
