Lab Coast are Calgary-based Canadian indie-experimentalists with a sizable back catalogue of under-produced, fuzzy pop tunes, (almost all of them checking in well-short of three minutes), handily collected together in an eponymous release out this year.
Hits from an alternative universe where these things leap straight into the Top 10, (and Justin Bieber is completely scorned), come one after another. They've certainly got plenty of leftfield tunes. Sebadoh, Guided By Voices and early Teenage Fanclub came to my mind as touchstones but perhaps they've done enough to deserve a field all of their own. Compilation of my year thus far!
