The Heart of Rock & Soul # 980 Teddy Pendergrass

'Teddy's first solo hit. And though he's kissing his lover off and claims it's a shame the sparks gone out of their relationship, he sounds anything but sad about it. In fact, his chants of the title phrase feel more like a taunt, while in the verses, he promises to pay his alimony on time but insists that the world will be a better place in the wake of the divorce. Nice metaphor for his feelings toward former wagemaster, Harold Melvin, no doubt.'
