100 Mavericks # 95 Ivor Cutler

'Even in his normal speech he sounded as if he was lamenting the passing of a dear friend' George Martin

A truly unique artist. Much loved by a select few; Martin, John Peel, The Beatles, John Lydon and Robert Wyatt among them. There's nothing that remotely compares to his sensibility anywhere in the field of things that touched somehow on Rock and Roll. It's difficult to write more than a few sentences about Cutler without dropping the word eccentric in there because he's archetypal in this respect but his is a genuine, unforced eccentricity that speaks of a world that is almost gone. More about him and tributes from the devoted here.
