Vashti Bunyan's attempt at making it as a conventional Pop Star with a 1965 Decca single, written by Jagger and Richards and hoping to emulate Marianne Faithfull's previous success. It flopped, and a few years later after a series of unsuccessful follow ups she embarked on the remarkable journey that led to her classic 1970 Folk album, Just Another Diamond Day which I'm currently hunting down a vinyl version of and will review on here soon. In the meantime here's another of her songs from that earlier, pop period that seems apt given the seasonal state of play outside my window.
