An interesting slice of history. The song itself melodically is pretty much as lazy a rewrite of Common People as it's possible to imagine. Perhaps it was deliberate. But the lyrics are something else. A wonderful reminder of that cynical time when New Labour under Tony Blair had just taken office and were desperately courting pop stars in order to give them some cache with youth and the music industry pitched in with full and slightly vile abandon.
